About Us

Buildwise Managing Director Georgia McKay, has over 40 years experience in the building industry, including on site roles as an insurance assessor and for the last 20 years as a consultant. She holds unlimited domestic and commercial building registration in Victoria and a Diploma in Building Surveying.

Georgia was appointed to the Building Assessors panel at Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV) in 2016.

Georgia has also served as a Board Member on the Building Appeals Board from 2016 until December 2021.  

With an extensive background in commercial, community, residential projects during a long and successful construction industry career, Georgia brings an unparalleled level of expertise to assist clients to manage their way through, what can be, a minefield of problems and confusion when undertaking projects in the construction industry.

As one of the first women to work on site in the commercial construction sector in Victoria, Georgia has seen a vast range of projects during her career including offices, retail, high end residential homes, townhouses, high rise residential apartments, ski resorts, and medical facilities. Her responsibilities in some of Australia’s largest corporations have included such roles as Site Manager, Project Manager and Development Manager. She has also undertaken private development projects. 

Georgia is passionate about building and committed to assisting owners to fulfil their dreams or resolve building disputes. In her spare time, she can be found in the mountains skiing, hiking and cycling.

She is experienced in the preparation of Expert Witness reports and appears at VCAT, Victorian Supreme Court and County Courts.
